To help educate backyard poultry owner’s about infectious poultry diseases and protect their birds, the United States Department of Agriculture is again offering a free calendar for 2012, called: Backyard Biosecurity: Keeping Your Birds Healthy. The calendar features full-color photos of birds like the one shown below, and can be ordered at: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/birdbiosecurity/s: You can order up to two per individual address, and it always takes awhile for mine to get here so I recommend you send for it now – they say to allow six to eight weeks for delivery.

I just emailed USDA in 2 separate emails trying to get a 2013 calendar.
There was no calendar to check off in the drop down under “BIOSECURITY FOR BIRDS (BFB)”
Jackie, I’ve been checking the USDA site too looking for the 2013 calendar, and so far – no luck. If they email you back with info on how to get it, let me know!
The site has problems. It said it dose not recommend opening the order form. We just got chickens this year and I seen you coulc get a free calender. I thought it might be helpful. They may be all gone.
Sheila, it does appear that the government site for ordering this calendar is experiencing problems; or, they are making it as difficult as possible to order the calender. I was able to click through the screen that said there was a security problem, and eventually get to a point where it looked like I had ordered a calender, but it wasn’t easy. It’s frustrating – we as taxpayers are funding these calenders, but they make it impossible to order them?
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH! I LOVE AVIANS!
