Now that all our goat kids are here for the year, we’ve been to our annual goat show and done another milk test, it’s time for us to take the hard step of letting some of the goats go. So, we have a doeling from this year (Eilis Quinn), a polled buckling from this year (Patrick Quinn), a dry 3-year-old polled doe (Avalon), and a 3-year-old doe in milk (Charm Box) FOR SALE.
All of these beautiful goats have great genetics behind them, but we just can’t keep them all. Photos, details, and links to their parents and pedigrees are provided for each of these goats below. It’s a Great opportunity to put together a starter herd! The adult goats are tested annually for CAE, CL, and Johne’s to verify that all are negative and Ohio is a Brucellosis and Tuberculosis free state.
Bramblestone CQ Eilis Quinn – $650.00 (doeling) Pedigree Here
*B Bramblestone CQ Patrick Quinn – $550.00 (polled buckling) Pedigree Here
Eilis is a doeling and Patrick is a polled buckling born 04/12/17 that have great form and terrific pedigrees behind them. Their dam is *M Old Mountain Farm Taylor Quinn *D who scored an 84 in linear appraisal and has earned her ADGA & AGS milking stars. Their sire is CH Bramblestone Celtic Quinn who has just earned his Permanent Champion title. These kids come from great bloodlines but we’re keeping both the dam and sire, and I have a polled doeling from last year that we’re keeping. So, they’re for sale.
Wild Wind Farm Cal Avalon $500.00 (polled doe) Pedigree Here
Avalon came to Bramblestone Farm in the spring of 2016 when Wild Wind Farm announced that there would be a reduction of their Nigerian Dwarf herd. I have always admired her dam’s udder (it’s quite impressive and she’s a huge milk producer), Avalon’s polled, and her sire is Dragonfly HLJ Calvary *S.
As a first freshener, Avalon joined the herd too late for her to participate in milk production testing with the other girls, but she takes after her dam and outproduced the other first fresheners. In 2017, Avalon fooled us – she wasn’t pregnant along with the other girls to freshen in spring. We haven’t tried to breed her again so she remains an open doe in the herd. Avalon’s page is here.
Avalon’s dam (Maybelline) is a beautiful doe, that produces tremendous amounts of milk and has a gorgeous udder. She has never been on milk production test; however, I have witnessed the incredible amount of milk she produces. She also scored an 89 VVVE in her latest linear appraisal as a 4-year-old.
3*M Bramblestone Charm Box $600.00 (Polled doe) Pedigree Here SOLD
Charm Box’s dam matured into such a beautiful doe (89 in linear appraisal as a third freshener and earned her milk production stars as a second freshener) and Charm is very similar.
Conformationally, she appears to be very close to her dam but has a more level topline, is more angular, has less rump angle, and is perhaps a bit more feminine in features. In her first linear appraisal as an adult, she surpassed her dam slightly by scoring 83 as a first freshener versus her dam’s score of 82. Oh, and she’s polled! As a 2nd freshener, she earned her ADGA milking star (pending ADGA confirmation)! You can find all the details on her page here.
