DIY Gift Bath Soak via Better Hens and GardensSince it’s the season for gifting, here’s an idea for a simple to make bath soak. Tied up with an appropriately colored ribbon and tag, it can be a thoughtful gift any time of year.

Here’s the recipe for this simple bath soak:

2 cups baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)

1 cup Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)

2 tablespoons ground ginger

5 drops essential oil (optional – I used lavender-vanilla)

Mix all ingredients – make sure the ginger is lump free before adding to the  mix.  Store in an airtight jar, or package in a cellophane bag (with tag) for gift giving.

Add 1/2 – 1 cup (for a normal size tub, more for larger tubs) to bathwater and soak.  Other herbs/essential oils can be substituted as desired.

This doesn’t have an overly heavy fragrance and really does help reduce aches and pains after soaking for 20 or 30 minutes.
