Did you know that you can get a totally free 2018 chicken calendar from the USDA? To help educate backyard poultry keepers about infectious poultry diseases and protect their birds, the United States Department of Agriculture is again offering a free yearly calendar for 2018, called: Raise Healthy Birds.
In the past, the government hasn’t made it easy to order these calendars, but this year they’ve changed the ordering process and it was easy!
It was as simple as sending an e-mail, and within a week, two of these free 2018 calendars arrived in my mailbox.
Each year, it’s a full-color calendar with some great photographs of poultry so I send off and get it every year. Actually, I order two and they always send two – I don’t know how many they would actually send if I tried to order more.
Anyway, this is the link to the site where you can find the free 2018 calendar information: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/newsroom/publications
This is what the site looks like and if you type calendar into the search box down below, this is what it will come up with:
As you can see, in the How to Order Copies above, you need to send an email to the APHIS’ Publication and Distribution Management Team.
My email to them was really short and simple:
Of course, I added my name and address after the to: and within a week, two of these showed up:
So, if you’re looking for some nice 2018 calendars for this year, here’s your opportunity to get them FREE! Please don’t try to order them from me, you have to order them from the USDA as described above.
If the beautiful chicken photographs inspire you to get started with chickens, HERE are 10 things to consider when buying or designing your coop.
