Weed-Be-Gone

Recipe for a safe and easy homemade weedkiller.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings 1 gallon
Cost $5

Equipment

  • Garden Sprayer

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon Distilled White Vinegar
  • 2 cups Epsom Salt
  • 1/4 cup Dawn Dishwashing Soap (the blue original)

Instructions

  • Mix the three ingredients in the sprayer making sure the salt has dissolved.
  • Spray it on weeds in the morning of a sunny day after the dew has evaporated. Walk away.
  • Go back after dinner and the weeds will be shriveled or gone altogether.

Notes

Several readers found that heating the Epsom salt with some vinegar on the stove until dissolved will prevent the problem of the sprayer clogging. Once the Epsom salt is cooled proceed with mixing solution as the recipe states. It works much better than trying to get the Epsom salt to break down in the sprayer.
