In our part of the country, we had a drought for most of the summer, and then suddenly rain. The rain was very welcome, but caused some monster zucchini in our garden – much larger than I really wanted to use. So, what to do with all those monster zucchini? Feed them to the chickens, of course. They really do love them.
We almost never see the roosters taking a break and laying down, they’re always on the alert for predators and food. So, we were amazed to see that for zucchini, even they were willing to sit down, take a break, and enjoy.
The zucchini are good for the chickens too, acting as a natural dewormer for them.
So, if you’ve got chickens, or know someone who does, don’t feel overwhelmed by all that zucchini – just share with the chickens!
